new domestic

These photographs grew out of my typical tasks around the house, an assumption about still life photographs, and an obsession with 3/4 inch plywood. The scenes are staged while completing the actual work and lit for dramatic effect. The goal of the work is to challenge the monotony of suburban life during a pandemic and the idea of traditional gendered roles within the home. The photographs are mounted to plywood that is commonly sold as project panels, for the average do it yourselfer.
