new domestic grew out of my typical tasks around the house, assumptions about still life photographs, and a desire to tinker. The staged scenes are composed while completing the work and lit for dramatic effect. I am challenging the monotony of suburban life and the idea of traditional gendered roles within the home. The photographs are elevating household routines and projects into dramatic memories.
